The Undergraduate Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNS has a very strong desire to become a superior study program locally and nationally as well as in a global context, with the mission of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which has a contribution to regional and national development, and leads to increasing global competitiveness. One of the most important steps taken is curriculum evaluation, this is done in the context of the initial step in reorienting the desired MIPA undergraduate competence. The discussion on the competence of graduates of the UNS MIPA Undergraduate Program was carried out by the Study Program Team. The UNS Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Undergraduate Study Program has proven to be one of the best undergraduate programs in Indonesia. There are eight undergraduate program options to choose from which are tailored to meet the interests and talents of prospective students and to supply the needs of a skilled workforce in their field. The Mathematics Study Program of the UNS MIPA Faculty is the embryo of the UNS MIPA Faculty which was initiated in 1982. It began with pioneering the collaboration between UNS and the Australian International Development Project (IDP) in 1986-1994 in the development of basic sciences, especially Mathematics.
The Physics Undergraduate Study Program and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNS were established based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture dated October 1, 1996, No. 0297/O/1996. In 2003 the Physics Undergraduate Study Program received Accredited B status by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BANPT) of the Ministry of National Education Number: 05910/ Ak-VII-S1-029/ USFFGA/ IX/ 2003.
The Chemistry Undergraduate Study Program was established together with the establishment of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNS Surakarta in 1996. The pioneering Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNS began in 1982 with the support of lecturer staff with MIPA education backgrounds who were placed in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Agriculture.
The Biology S1 Study Program is one of the majors at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNS Surakarta. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNS was established based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 0297/0/1996 dated October 1, 1996 and inaugurated on May 2, 1997 by the Chancellor of Universitas Sebelas Maret on behalf of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.
On January 29, 2007 the government through the Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of National Education issued letter number 163/D/T/2007 regarding the permit for the administration of the Department/S1 study program of Computer Science at Universitas Sebelas Maret so that in 2007 it was allowed to accept new students through the SPMB Nusantara route.
The Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program is the 8th study program within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNS, which was established on May 22, 2013 based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 209/E/O/2013. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNS Pharmacy Study Program was established in order to meet the market needs for superior pharmacists and UNS’s capabilities, both human resources and infrastructure.
Based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia no 419/E/O/2014 dated 17 September 2014, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia gave a mandate to Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta to open several new study programs. One of the new study programs opened is the Statistics Study Program.
The Environmental Science S-1 Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNS has a holistic field of environmental studies covering abiotic, biotic and cultural aspects with an emphasis on studies on freshwater ecosystems. Aspects of studies in the Environmental Science Study Program include basic studies of environmental sciences, studies of environmental mitigation and adaptation and studies of global environmental problems.
