FMIPA UNS – Even though health is expensive, if we fall ill the cost can be much more expensive. Therefore, prevention is better than cure. As a preventive measure, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta provides facilities for Lecturers and Education Personnel aged over 40 to perform Medical Check-Ups. This step is carried out to determine health conditions, as well as to detect a disease early.

In collaboration with UNS Hospital, the Medical Check-Up (MCU) was attended by nearly ninety people. Seeing the enthusiasm of lecturers and education staff, MCU was scheduled for 4 days. Monday and Tuesday (22-23/11/2021) for taking blood samples, urine, Thorax X-rays and Electrocardiogram (ECG). Meanwhile, Thursday and Friday (25-26/11/2021) are used for physical examinations and consultations with specialist doctors.

One of the education staff, Anang Kuncoro appreciate FMIPA activities in the form of MCU facilities, as a form of extraordinary appreciation from the Faculty to lecturers and staff. Furthermore, Anang said that the benefits that can be felt are that we know our health conditions early. So if there are things related to unfavorable health conditions, preventive measures or treatment can be carried out from the start. In line with Anang, Dr. Ratna Setyaningsih (Lecturer of Biology Study Program) was also happy, because she could know the status and level of health earlier.

Both Anang Kuncoro and Dr. Ratna Setyaningsih hopes that the MCU can be carried out periodically. It can be once every two years for those who are currently declared to be in good health with normal values, and once a year for those who are declared to have poor health values.

Meanwhile, met separately on Wednesday (01/12/2021), the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNS, Drs. Harjana, M.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D to the mipa.uns.ac.id team said that this MCU activity is one of the implementations of the Human Resources welfare pillar that has been proclaimed by the Chancellor.

It is hoped that this activity can improve the health level of lecturers and education staff. More enthusiasm for work and work.
